CAMELLIA HEDGES are beautiful.giving much needed colour during the drear winter months. But only the Sasanqua varieties or Camellia species varieties.
I am thinking cameliia Paradise Helen or Camellia Setsugekka for the good whiTes .Transnokoensis for litte bids of pink opening to white.
Camellia mine-no-yuki , Fairy blush..
Red works very well in winter.Crimson King.,Kanjiro or Yuletide .All glow in the low winter light and as with every plant do NOT plant only one..
Group together or make a hedge. In the summer months the glossy dark green hedges make a background for the riot of summer colour.
And they are tough.I have seen Setsugekka growing as a hedge on the Sydney waterfront.
